Pearls are organic gems — a little care keeps them glowing for years.
Pearls
- Last on, first off: put pearls on after perfume, lotion, and hairspray, and take them off before swimming, showering, or exercising.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
- Store pearls separately from other jewelry so harder stones and metals don't scratch them.
Sterling silver
- Sterling silver is soft — avoid bending rings, clasps, and chains.
- Tarnish is natural and normal. Polish gently with a soft silver cloth; avoid dips and harsh chemicals on pearl pieces.
Plated pieces
- On silver- or gold-plated designs, the plating will gradually wear with friction, water, and chemicals. Be gentle with them and they'll keep their finish much longer.
What to avoid
Water, pools, perfume directly on pearls, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive cloths.
